August Continues to Reduce Diesel Prices

August brings more heat, but also more drops in diesel prices across the United States. The cost of fuel in the U.S. went down an average of -$0.051, making this week the eighth consecutive week that the national average cost has decreased. The West Coast saw the largest price drop with -$0.060, while the smallest drop was not too far behind with -$0.045 in the Rocky Mountain region.

All regions also saw a decrease from this time last year with an average -$1.226 for the United States. The lowest diesel prices this week were found in the Gulf Coast region with an average price of $2.487. California had the highest regional diesel prices again with an average price of $2.960. These fuel prices are a part of a weekly report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
